**Strict Hand washing rules are provided by Fraser Health Licensing. Hand washing and hand sanitization happens throughout the day typically after Art, before Snack, before Lunch, and after Afternoon Free Play.
We--as daycare providers--pride ourselves in the routines we create for young children. Besides giving children a sense of security and self-discipline, the daycare routine allows children the open space to learn. Children also learn social skills and how to use their imagination during Free Play, Outdoor Play, and Quiet Time.
The following list is a daily routine that we at A B CHILDREN Licensed Daycare take during a typical day from opening to closing. Keep in mind, we occasionally have special birthdays, field trips, and summer trips to the park,
1. Welcome: Settling In. In the morning parents arrive at the #ABCHILDRENdaycare with their children via the daycare door. Typically parents help children remove kids outerwear, hand children's lunches to the child care provider, discuss any changes in the child's life, and sign-in for the day.
2. Morning Free Play: Children are occupied by Morning Playtime with toys provided by the daycare or any toys the child has brought to daycare.
3. Art Time: Allowing kids to Create in a structured space using their Fine Motor skills.
4. Circle Time/ Music: Children gather around the ECE teacher. Sit together to sing songs, listen to stories, learn the alphabet, and count with and without guitar accompaniment.
5. Snack Time: Parent Provided snacks for a healthy treat.
6. Free Play: Depending on weather conditions children will go outside for supervised Free Play.
7. Lunch: Parent Provided lunches as required on Registration Forms.
8. Nap/ Quiet Time: Children experience a different number of noise levels and environmental changes during the day from Outdoor Free Play to Indoor Quiet Time/ Structured Play. If children are not napping during this time they are drawing, colouring, or learning about alphabet/ number symbols.
9. Afternoon Free Play: Depending on weather conditions children will go outside for supervised Free Play.
10. Parents Pick-Up: Parents arrive to gather their children, gather children's backpack, lunch box, shoes, coat, art, and sign-out for the day.
